As your IMX Pilates and fitness center membership grows, you will want to expand your standardized classes to attract new clients and reach target markets (i.e. low back, golfers, seniors, pregnancy). The two main advanced courses to enroll your staff in after the Basic Certification are the 5-Day Advanced Intensive and the 5-Day Super Advanced Intensive. Our Master Trainers will come onsite to your studio to deliver these certifications to your staff. Our advanced education builds and retains your membership!
The IM=X Pilates franchise provides advanced courses to the instructors/trainers in the franchise network. Advanced courses provide you with an edge over your competition for the following reasons:
1. It allows you to target special populations in an effective and safe manner (i.e. lower back pain, pre/postnatal, golf, etc.)
2. It motivates your instructors/trainers who have access to a valuable education.
3. It helps maintain the interest of your customers by giving them new challenges and/or specialized routines
4. It keeps your services fresh and unique

Learn new exercises as well as a variety of new formats that target specific workout goals -- expand your the eight basic sequences into over 65 sections of innovative exercise (endless variety!) The Advanced Certification gives experienced IM=X Pilates Trainers and Instructors NEW research and choreography. Several versions of the following formats are covered during this 5-Day Intensive.
FLOOR Workouts
Ring Workout - A unique blend of ring exercises that focus on core strength. A short but intense routine. Schedule this 30 minute workout before a 15-30 Indoor Cycling workout.
Stretch Format - Teach your clients how to improve muscle relaxation, movement patterns and range of motion. Routines repeatedly target hamstrings, spinal, hip and shoulder muscles. Formats for this class range in length from 30-60 minutes. Again - great to program adjacent to a short cardio routine. This workout is also used to help seniors with mobility, core power and balance.
Floor Motion Hybrid - Learn new IM=X vocabulary that transforms sagittal plane exercise into circular choreography with seamless transitions and innovative moves such as Arm Circles, Fan Kicks, Oblique Swings, etc. Formats for this class range in length from 30-60 minutes.
Pilates Format - This workout blends signature advanced pilates exercises such as Teasers, Boomerang, Rollover, Double Leg Stretch with the IM=X routines for a whole new floor class. Offer this 60 minute workout to experienced clients.
XERCIZER Workouts
Interval Training - A combination of new exercises and basic sequences that are delivered in sets to create muscle fatigue and raise your heart rate. The 3 Interval Training workouts include intense bouts Xercizer training followed by small rest periods which focus on recovery. Formats range in length from 60-90 minutes.
Stretch - Use the Xercizer to intensify your flexibility protocols. Passive, active and resistive stretch routines are combined to increase range of motion. Research on flexibility is reviewed. Class formats range in length from 30-60 minutes. Schedule the 30 minute versions before a 15-30 Cardio workout.
Hybrid - Learn several formats that combine floor (ring/body bar) with Xercizer routines. Integrate open chain exercise with resistance training for cross conditioning. Clients who are used to Xercizer only sessions will be pleasantly surprised by the challenge. Formats range in length from 60-90 minutes.
Abs - IM=X Pilates is all about trunk recruitment and strengthening but there are several abdominal routines which are new to the program. Combine them with the basics and you will have the most intense pilates core class around! Schedule the 30 minute versions before a 30 Cardio or Lower Body workout.

Keeping your pilates education fresh requires you and your staff to update your education and services. The IM=X SUPER Advanced Certification keeps you on the cutting edge by providing experienced IM=X Pilates Trainers and Instructors with NEW research and more workout routines. The 140-page instruction manual includes photos, step-by-step instructions and class formats. In order to receive IM=X Pilates SUPER Advanced Certification, students must pass a Written and Practical Exam. Course topics include the following:
FLOOR Workouts
Upper Body - Expand the muscle building effects of your pilates program. New routines hypertrophy latissmus dorsi, biceps, triceps, lower trapezius, erector spinae, pelvic floor and abdominal wall while inhibiting the neck flexors/extensors. Focus is given to the technique of ribcage stabilization.
Lower Body - Learn 2 new IM=X routines that repeatedly target the pelvic floor, hip flexors/extensors, abdominal wall, erector spinae, gluteals, hamstrings, quadriceps and adductors. The lower body workout is intense and effective for reducing inches off the hips/thighs. Anatomy of the lower body is reviewed.
Pre/Postnatal Training - Learn how to address this population with IM=X Pilates workouts that follow the ACOG guidelines. Learn formats that safely challenge women in their 2nd and 3rd trimesters. Review the essential research for teaching this high risk population.
Back Strength - Formats focus on the details of effective stabilization, spinal decompression and posture. Research on LOW BACK PAIN (LBP) provides the teacher with general knowledge of exercise protocols used for LBP remediation. Prescriptive exercise handouts are provided so clients can continue to improve in between classes.
XERCIZER Workouts
Upper Body - Expand the muscle building effects of your the reformer with NEW routines that fatigue the latissmus dorsi, biceps, triceps, lower trapezius, erector spinae, pelvic floor and abdominal wall. Increase spring loads without recruiting neck flexors/extensors.
Lower Body - Expand the pelvic stabilization, hip range of motion and plyometric sequences into an hour long routine that repeatedly targets the pelvic floor, hip flexors/extensors, abdominal wall, erector spinae, gluteals, hamstrings, quadriceps and adductors.
Golf/Tennis - Learn formats that not only improve the posture, strength and flexibility but also aerobic fitness. By incorporating additional routines, your clients will work at 70-80% of their VO2 max.
Pre/Postnatal Training - Learn reformer formats that safely challenge women in their 2nd and 3rd trimesters. Review of the ACOG guidelines and pregnancy research is provided for a thorough understanding of this high risk population.
Back Strength - Learn reformer workouts that were designed for post-rehabilitation. Gain an understanding of the causes of general low back pain. Integrate therapeutic exercise, manual traction and posture re-education.
