Overview: The IM=X® Tower is an exciting all-in-one apparatus that provides your clients with a cross-conditioning alternative that is effective and adds numerous programming options for class variety.  The IM=X® Tower and Tower Barre Certification teaches instructors 17 new sequences in a 2-Day Intensive or virtually over a series of sessions. IM=X® Tower can be offered in workouts of 30-75 minutes or combined with Mat, Xercizer (reformer), Cycling and more, providing an endless variety of hybrid options. The instruction manual contains photographs and step-by-step instructions on how to teach each sequence. Adding these workouts to your IM=X® repertoire will provide your clients with a perfect complement to their IM=X® routines.

IM=X® Tower: IM=X® Tower course begins with the IM=X® Fundamentals and progresses through seated, supine, prone, and standing positions for a total-body workout which improves stabilization, strength, balance, flexibility and range of motion. Your IM=X® Master Trainer will coach you through learning ten sequences which progress into a robust option of formats. The certification manual includes step by step photos and instructions, verbal cues,  spring and level configuration as well as beginner to advanced workout options.

IM=X® Tower Barre: The seven unique Tower Barre sequences add upper body and core strengthening to grand pliés, relevés, tendus and other ballet-inspired movements to allow for a barre workout that uses springs, handles, foot loops and a dowel for a truly unique blend of exercises not found anywhere else.

Course Requirements: The IM=X® Pilates Basic certification is a prerequisite for attending the IM=X® Tower and Tower Barre certification course. It is also recommended to review the Tower workouts on IM=X® OnDemand channel prior to course attendance. Independent practice hours are required upon course completion in order to master a variety of workouts. In order to be awarded with a certificate of completion, you must demonstrate your proficiency in teaching the IM=X® Tower and Tower Barre formats in a Practical Exam to be completed within three months of course attendance.

I have been teaching the IMX programs at Bristol Myers-Squibb since 2002…I feel very fortunate that so many years back the Fitness Center staff at BMS connected with Elyse and we all had the opportunity to learn, train and certify in IMX. Thanks to her knowledge and creativity we all continue to make a difference in the lives of each person that experiences an IMX Mat or Xercizer class.”

IM=X® is a formula that packs more of a strength training punch. IM=X® pioneer Elyse McNergney leads exercisers through a series of toning and stretching moves on a sturdier version of the pilates reformer (The Xercizer).”

I recently found a method of training that uses aspects of pilates but is geared towards the non-dancer…This method is called IM=X® which stands for Integrated Movement Xercize. Based on pilates, IM=X® puts more emphasis on strength…If you do the exercises consistently, with proper form, you will see and feel the difference!”

The IM=X Basic Certification course is outstanding! The science and research that supports this program is so sound, which really provides a strong foundation. Every exercise, or movement, is explained in great detail and provides the “why” along with the “what” and the “don’ts” along with the “dos”. I feel confident that this course will equip me and my future instructors with all of the tools needed to successfully teach a wide variety of effective and safe classes for our members.”
