We understandably get some confusion around this question. IM=X® Barre and IM=X® Tower Barre are two different programs – the former uses only a Ballet Barre and some minimal props for a ballet-inspired workout, the latter uses the unique IM=X® Wall Tower to fuse ballet-inspired movements with the resistance of the Tower.
Learning both IM=X® Barre and IM=X® Tower Barre allow you to utilize ( 7 + 12 =) 19 total sequences that can be blended in myriad ways to create a unique and varied program.
We don’t recommend the IM=X® Barre program be taught alone, we recommend that you teach IM=X® Barre with our IM=X® Tower Barre – a program taught together with the IM=X® Tower in one course with the corresponding “IM=X® Tower and Tower Barre” course manual. The IM=X® Barre program is taught in a separate one-day course. Please note: no manual is required for the IM=X® Barre course.
There are two courses which are required to master the sequencing for these combinations: IM=X® Tower (Two Days – Teaches 10 Tower Sequences and 7 Tower Barre Sequences) and IM=X® Barre a One-Day Intensive teaching 12 Sequences. The total of 29 sequences can be blended and mixed and matched – producing unlimited format options. When combined with sequences from the IM=X® Floor program, the possibilities are endless.
The IM=X® Tower and Tower/Barre Course
IM=X® Tower: IM=X® Tower course begins with the IM=X® Fundamentals and progresses through seated, supine, prone, and standing positions for a total-body workout which improves stabilization, strength, balance, flexibility and range of motion. Your IM=X® Master Trainer will coach you through learning ten sequences which progress into a robust option of formats. The certification manual includes step by step photos and instructions, verbal cues, spring and level configuration as well as beginner to advanced workout options.
IM=X® Tower Barre: The seven unique Tower Barre sequences add upper body and core strengthening to grand pliés, relevés, tendus and other ballet-inspired movements to allow for a barre workout that uses springs, handles, foot loops and a dowel for a truly unique blend of exercises not found anywhere else.
The IM=X® Barre Course
IM=X® Barre can be taught as an excellent stand alone or mixed with IM=X® Tower for a powerful total body barre workout. Traditional ballet moves are paired with IM=X® stabilization techniques and spring resistance for upper and lower body toning. Twelve sequences provide a unique variety of hybrid routines, particularly when taught in combination with the IM=X® Tower Barre sequences. Grande and demi pliés are performed in combination with IM=X® Ring Stabilization Techniques. The leg sequences progress with tendus, attitudes, leg extensions and arabesques to provide a powerful lower body lengthening and toning. Calf raises known in ballet terms as relevés are combined with upper body strengthening using light weights. Quick leg lifts or grande battements challenge leg flexibility and raise the heart rate. The secret to a lean and strong body has been known by dancers for years – now your IM=X® clients can learn these moves and enjoy the benefits.
