Studio Policies and Code of Conduct

At IM=X® Pilates South Shore, we strive to maintain a positive, respectful, and safe environment for all our clients and staff members. To ensure a harmonious experience, we kindly request that you adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. Code of Conduct:
    • Respect: Treat everyone with respect, kindness, and consideration. Discriminatory language or behavior will not be tolerated.
    • Punctuality: We ask that you arrive at least 5 minutes early if you are an existing customer and 10-15 minutes early if you are new. We want to make sure you are all set to work out and have an amazing experience from the start.
    • Positive Attitude: Encourage and support fellow clients and staff. Constructive feedback is welcomed; negativity or complaints should be addressed privately.
    • Conflict Resolution: Should any conflicts arise, address them calmly and respectfully. If you need assistance, our staff is here to help mediate and find solutions.
  2. Scheduling and Reservations:
    • Booking: Classes and appointments can be booked up to 30 minutes to the start of the class through our online portal or app. In-person bookings are also available during operating hours.
    • Cancellation: We have a 12-hour cancellation policy for group classes due to limited class capacity. Please remove yourself from class via your MindBody account or reach out to us via phone or email. Without notice, there is a $15 late cancellation and no-show fee for unlimited members for group classes.  For class-pack holders, the class will be deducted from your account.  Should you need to cancel a private/ duet session, we ask for 24-our notice or the session will be deducted from your account.
    • Waitlisting: If a class is fully booked, you can join the waitlist. If a spot becomes available, you will be notified and added to the class on a first-come, first-served basis.
  3. Health and Safety:
    • Equipment Usage: Use Pilates equipment as instructed by our trained instructors to prevent injuries and ensure a safe workout. No food or drinks other than water allowed in the workout space.
    • Sanitation: Please use the provided sanitizing wipes to clean equipment before and after use. Equipment is also regularly sanitized by our staff.
    • Emergency Procedures: In case of an injury or medical emergency, please notify your instructor immediately. Instructors are trained to respond appropriately.
    • Medical History: To tailor workouts to your needs, inform us of any medical conditions, injuries, or limitations. Consult your healthcare provider before starting a new fitness program.
  4. Client Intake and Assessment:
    • Health Questionnaire: Before your first session, please fill out our health questionnaire. This information helps our instructors understand your needs and any limitations.
    • Initial Consultation: New clients are encouraged to schedule an initial consultation. This allows us to discuss your goals, medical history, and any concerns you may have.
    • Customization: Our instructors use the information from your questionnaire and consultation to tailor exercises to your individual needs and abilities.
    • Progress Tracking: Periodically, we’ll review your progress and adjust your workout plan to ensure you’re meeting your goals safely.
  5. Attire and Equipment:
    • Attire: Wear comfortable workout attire that allows for a full range of movement. We recommend tying your hair back. Grip socks are required when on a mat or Xercizer (reformer) and are available for purchase at the studio.
    • Personal Equipment: The studio provides everything you may need, including mats, rings, handles, foot loops, weights, and other essentials for your convenience. You’re welcome to bring your own mat and other personal equipment if preferred.
  6. Studio Etiquette:
    • Cell Phone Usage: We love for you to document your hard work in the studio (especially if you’re tagging us later!), but please be mindful of not interrupting others’ workout around you and ask before you record anyone.
    • Noise Level: Keep conversations and noise levels low to respect the concentration of others. Enter and exit classes quietly to minimize disruptions to ongoing sessions.
    • Late Arrivals: Late Arrivals will be allowed to participate 5 minutes after the start of the class. After 5 minutes each Instructor has her/his own discretion to limit participation to avoid disruptions and injuries. After 5 minutes your spot may be given to a standby client.
  7. Instructor Qualifications and Training:
    • Modifications: Our instructors are here to help you get the most out of your membership and workouts.  If you have any questions about how to modify or intensify any exercises, please ask.  We encourage you to schedule private sessions in addition to group sessions to get the most out of your workouts.
    • Certifications: All our instructors are certified in our IMX courses and undergo rigorous training to ensure they can guide you effectively.  Additionally, our instructors regularly attend workshops and courses to stay up to date with the latest techniques and industry trends.

NEW CLIENTS:
New to IM=X Pilates? We require an introductory session to familiarize yourself with our patented IM=X Xercizer (reformer). Your certified instructor will teach you the fundamental techniques that will help you create tremendous results.
