Slavka Kmec
Owner and IM=X® Pilates Certified Instructor
Slavka Kmec is the Owner and Pilates Instructor of IM=X Pilates Middle Village, along with her husband Jan. Slavka is certified in IM=X Floor, Xercizer (both basic and super advanced), Tower and Barre Program, and Platform. Slavka completed her Personal Trainer Certification in July 2020. Slavka is a fitness and health enthusiast, she loves swimming, Bikram yoga, walking, and gardening. She has 25 years of experience in hospitality industry management, customer service and sales, including in the hotels and cruise lines. She lives with her husband, 2 sons, and the family dog in Middle Village since 1997. She participated in IM=X program for 3 years, fell in love with every aspect of it, and decided to purchase the IM=X Franchise in 2020, since she wanted to share her knowledge and love for the IM=X with her community, so everyone there can also enjoy the benefits, and reach their full potential and fitness goals.
Jan Kmec
Owner and IM=X® Pilates Certified Instructor
Jan Kmec is the Co-Owner and Pilates Instructor of IM=X Pilates Middle Village, along with his wife Slavka. Jan is certified in IM=X Floor, Xercizer (both basic and super advanced), Tower and Barre Program, and Platform. Jan is a big swimmer, he loves hockey, and walking. He has 30 years of experience in hospitality industry in customer service as well as food and beverage area, including in the hotels and cruise lines. He fell in love with the IM=X program when his wife decided to purchase the Franchise and got him to exercise everyday, which helped him minimize his severe lower back pain. He loves to share what he has learned about the program and what great benefits it offers to anyone, specifically people that suffer with the lower back pain.
Sarah Zaidi
IM=X® Pilates Certified Instructor
Sarah Zaidi is a certified IM=X® Pilates trainer with her Basic Xercizer Certification and Floor Programs, Tower and Barre Programs. Sarah was first introduced to Pilates as a way to build a stronger core, build strength, improve her posture and be present with every movement. She fell in love with Pilates and decided to pursue her love for Pilates by teaching it and sharing it with others in her community.
In addition to teaching for IM= X® Pilates Middle Village, and NYC, Sarah also teaches advanced Mat Pilates classes at another studio in Queens. She is ecstatic, and honored by the opportunity to spread her passion for Pilates and overall well-being to those curious of self-discovery and those who are in-tuned with their body.
Luna Siracusa
IM=X® Pilates Certified Instructor
Luna Siracusa is certified IM=X Pilates Trainer, certified in Basic Xercizer, Floor Programs, and Tower and Barre Programs. Luna was a competitive athlete growing up. After sustaining a major back injury, she was introduced to yoga & pilates. Since then, both practices have completely transformed her life. Luna graduated with a bachelor's degree in Sports Communication and a Master's degree in Physical Education. She also completed her 500 Hour Yoga Teacher Training, specializing in Hatha Vinyasa. Combining her passion for health, wellness and overall fitness, Luna helps others experience increased strength, flexibility, and mobility. Luna has high energy and looks forward to sharing her positive outlook and athletic mentality with her clients.
Sorrel Patella
IM=X® Pilates Certified Instructor
Sorrel Patella is certified in IM=X Basic Xercizer and Floor Programs. Growing up, Sorrel was a competitive gymnast and swimmer. Even as an adult, she never lost her passion for pursuing fitness goals. She has participated in CrossFit competitions, ran half marathons and loves to hike with her family. Sorrel was a Coach for one of the largest CYO co-ed swim teams in Queens for many years. She coached both the boys and girls teams, ranging in age from 5-14. Those years serve as some of her best memories and proudest moments because she helped kids to meet their own fitness goals while giving back to the community as well. Sorrel was recommended to return to Pilates after an injury and simply fell in love with IM=X. She is looking forward to sharing her enthusiasm for fitness with the community and helping others to benefit from the foundations of the IM=X Pilates program. Sorrel lives at home in Middle Village with her husband and two sons.
Tia Sciarratta
IM=X® Pilates Certified Instructor
Tia Sciarratta is certified in IM=X Pilates Basic Xercizer. Tia has always been a fitness enthusiast and practiced yoga for many years. She discovered Pilates and immediately loved the discipline and benefits of the practice. After a year of taking lessons and learning IM=X Pilates program, she made the decision to become an instructor. She completed her Basic Reformer Training in October 2023. Her appreciation for Pilates has allowed her to build a strong foundation and learn the fundamentals that can be applied not only in Pilates class but also in other types of workouts, as well as in daily life. Tia looks forward to working with clients is committed to helping others reach their fitness goals and discover the benefits of IM=X Pilates.
Nicole Hubert
IM=X® Pilates Certified Instructor
Nicole Hubert is certified in the IM=X Basic Xercizer. Growing up, Nicole was always a competitive athlete. She played varsity softball, ran track in high school, and continued her track career at a Division II collegiate level while attending Molloy University. At Molloy University, Nicole studied to become a registered nurse. She now works as a RN at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC. Aside from being a RN, Nicole is passionate about Pilates and fitness. She finds Pilates is an outlet to relieving stress from her full-time nursing job, while maintaining her strength and physical fitness. She is excited to share her enthusiasm for fitness and health with the Middle Village community, and help others to benefit from all that the IM=X Pilates program has to offer. Nicole was born and raised in Middle Village with her family, and recently purchased a home of her own in the neighborhood.
Bella Borukhova
IM=X® Pilates Certified Instructor
Bella Borukhova is certified in IM=X Floor and Xerciser (both Basic and Advanced). She holds a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from Long Island University and brings 24 years of experience to the field. Throughout her career, Bella has worked at Lenox Hill Hospital with a diverse patient population, including those in cardiac, orthopedic, medical/surgical ICU, geriatric, and outpatient sports medicine settings. She currently works with the Visiting Nurse Service of New York (VNSNY).
In addition to her career as a physical therapist, Bella has developed a deep passion for Pilates and fitness. She initially turned to Pilates to strengthen her core, relieve stress, and build a stronger mind–body connection. After experiencing its benefits, she was inspired to become an instructor, combining her extensive physical therapy expertise with her love for Pilates to help others achieve balance, strength, and well-being.
Kaitlin Keough
IM=X® Pilates Certified Instructor
Kaitlin Keough is certified in IM=X Basic Xercizer. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Physical Education and has spent her career teaching PE and Health to students in Queens. She has always loved movement, from playing sports throughout her childhood, to exploring different fitness routines as an adult. It wasn't until she found pilates that everything clicked. IM=X Pilates and Fitness became her preferred way to move, helping her feel stronger, more grounded, and confident. Inspired by her own transformation, Kaitlin obtained her IM=X Certification so she could share her experience with others. She creates warm, supportive environment in her classes, focusing on building strength, improving form, and creating body and mind connection during the class and outside of the class for her clients.
Alexa Kava
IM=X® Pilates Certified Instructor
Alexa Kava is certified in IM=X Basic Xercizer. Alexa's journey into becoming an instructor was through taking IM=X Pilates classes, where she experienced firsthand how intentional movement, deep breathing, and body awareness can support both physical strength and nervous system regulation. Although she enjoys other forms of movement such as yoga and strength training, IM=X Pilates spoke to her in a unique way. With a professional background in social work and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), she brings a compassionate and client-centered approach to every class, creating an environment that feels supportive, empowering, and accessible to all bodies. Her goal is to help clients move with confidence, build resilience, and feel more connected to their bodies both in and outside the studio.
